Default Sheathed Weapons in Outposts

Thread title speaks for itself..

Making weapons sheathed in outposts, offhands and swords and the like could be on the waist as if being held by a belt, shields and staves could be on the back, my only concern is in that this could generate loads of clipping problems..specially with capes..
Thoughts? ideas?

Reminds me of WoW...
Anyhow, I think that it would be a good idea, if not for all the flashy effects that people would display on purpose while in Kamadan's America 1 district... Maybe downgrade the graphics like they did with armor in towns/outposts?

You're not concerned at all that it would slow outposts down like molasses?

There is no point to your post. There is no point to tormented weapons, elite armor etc etc...but they are nice to have. Don't just say no point and say /unsigned..back up your reasons.

I would love this, gives characters better appeal.

not a huge change but it would look cool. Had no point in Halo 3 but I still think it looks awesome plus I could see their back up weapon.

I would like to see it. I dont know how my Bow would look? I would settle for a diagonal bow on my back with an arrow pouch going across it. I think spell casters should have their's on their waist etc.

A simple animation of them pulling out their weapon when going to an explorable area would be cool also.

-It would waste development time on something unimportant
-Slows down towns
-Adds little to the game, and unless you are just gunna stick the weapon to the side which would probably look stupid or have a generic sword/axe/ect sheath which defeats the point of showing off your weapon it would require a new "sheathed" skin for every weapon.

Happy?

it might look cool but there are too many different weapon skins to hace sheaths for all of them, plus it might get a tad bit annoying in crowded places like Kamadan

Im not, because it shouldnt, as long as they made it low res, like armours in outposts, there shouldnt be a problem.
Perhaps keeping weapons with effects from displaying their respective effects.

I mean nowadays we get minis, fireworks, tonic transform effects and whatnot all in the same outpost, i doubt the server would lag much more by displaying a couple of weps :P

Where do your characters store all their gear once they join an outpost? Their ass? :P

There magical extra dimensional back pack, just like every other character in any video game.

But guildwars isnt just any other video game is it?
When you buy a video game..what is it that really motivates you to purchase it?
Some people are in it for the graphics, others are more interested in actual gameplay...

Im in it for small details like these.

Would probably take Anet 6-12 months just to redesign all character models, delaying everything else by same amount.

However, I do like the idea and maybe with some luck we can see it in GW2.

/winthread!

(Does this mean I've gotta go "/notsigned" those threads too because the only purpose for displaying weapons in town is to enhance one's e-peen.)

Did you even read what i type?
Are you so narrowminded that you imediately assume the purpose of showing weapons is for bragging rights? Some people actually enjoy the litle detail.

Anyway, mod please lock thread.

When you say "it shouldn't," are you basing that on any technical knowledge, or just guessing? You're talking about drawing an extra 1-2 models on every player in the district.
